The Community Don Orione of Nairobi has the great joy to
invite you to the ceremony of the blessing and official opening of the new
Chapel of the Formation House located in Karen Nairobi, just after Kenya School
of Law. It will be in May 23rd, by His Excellence, Charles Daniel
Balvo, Apostolic Nuncio of Kenya.
This celebration is to be inserted as part of the
festivities of the Orionine Missionary Year (2013-2014).
The religious family of Don Orione is present in Kenya since
1996, with the arrival of an Italian priest. Don Giuseppe Vallauri bought a
house in Langata South Road, at that time, outskirts of Nairobi city, which
later became the Orionine seminary for students in years of
philosophy and theology. After him, the missionary tree will extend its roots
first in the Diocese of Murang'a, precisely in St Peter's Parish of Kaburugi,
then in the Diocese of Ngong with the acquisition of the Holy Spirit Parish of
Kandisi. Today the Orionine religious are divided into these three Communities, Nairobi, Kandisi and Kaburugi (Thika), with an encouraging juvenile future.
Your presence among us for this great day will
be very encouraging and a real sign of our working and walking together to
bring the Kingdom of God among his holy people and to “Instaurare Omnia in
Christo” under the guidance and the intercession of Saint Luigi Orione.
